       At Christ Our Savior we follow traditional Lutheran liturgies and hymnody in our worship services.  We utilize these traditional forms of worship not for the sake of tradition itself, but for the sake of the Gospel.  After all, what is the liturgy?  It is God’s people speaking and singing the words that God Himself has given in Holy Scripture to proclaim His infinite mercy in the cross of Christ.  The words of the liturgy are words that teach: they teach our visitors about Christ and they remind our members of His indescribable gifts.  The focus is always on Christ and His grace, not on our own personal worship preferences.

       “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of Christ.”  So writes St. Paul in his letter to the Christians in Rome.  We emphasize traditional Christian worship because the liturgy communicates this Word of Christ in all its richness.  We believe that this Word is what creates faith in the unbelieving heart and saves sinners.  We believe that this is the Word that causes growth in the Church.
